Choosing the best baby gear:
Things to consider: Do you want the pink girly nursery, the boyish nursery with the sports pattern? Is having the trendiest and most modern looking equipment important to you? If cost is a factor and you plan on having more than one child, it might be prudent to invest in some gender neutral, timeless pieces that won’t go out of style in several years. Even the most basic and gender neutral of nurseries can be dressed up with some less expensive finishes such as paint color or artwork.
The second major consideration is space. If you live in a small house or apartment, you might find that you prefer to have minimal baby gear, or equipment that can either serve a double purpose or be repurposed later on when your baby has grown older. If space is an issue, you might consider forgoing the traditional changing table and instead purchasing a soft changing pad to use on top of the baby’s dresser. You can also swap out the full sized baby swings for the smaller travel swings.
Third, consider your parenting ideals and practices. If you are choosing to breastfeed, chances are you can skip buying various bottles, formula warmers, and bottle brushes.
